Have you ever wondered why the human body looks the way it does? Why we walk on two legs instead of four? Why we can see in color but have a lousy sense of smell? Your Inner Fish looks into the past to answer these questions and more. This three-part PBS video series is based off the best-selling book of the same name by evolutionary biologist Neal Shubin, and it reveals a startling truth: Hidden within the human body is a story of life on Earth. Shubin is a prominent paleontologist, evolutionary biologist and popular science writer famous for discovering Tiktaalik, the “missing link” that made headlines around the world in 2006. Participants will watch one part of the video series in each of three sessions, as well as discuss the video and the book. The public is welcome to join this discussion which will be led by Holly Straub Ph.D., hosted in partnership with OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute). A limited number of copies of the book 'Your Inner Fish' will be available for checkout at the Vermillion Public Library. Once you are finished with the book, kindly return it so others may have a chance to read it before the discussion!
