FIRST ANNUAL MEMBERS' JURIED EXHIBITION DECEMBER 3-31, 2019 RECEPTION: THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5, 4-7 PM The VAAC welcomes its members to participate in the first annual Members’ Exhibition, to take place at the First Dakota National Bank Coyote Gallery, 10 E Main Street. This exhibit represents a collaboration between the Vermillion Area Arts Council, and the Vermillion Cultural Association. There is no cost to participate in the exhibit, although participation is limited to two submissions each from current members. Wall-hung work, fiber art, sculpture, ceramic, glass, or book arts are preferred. Artwork Drop-off: Sunday, December 1, 2-4 pm or Monday, December 2, 5-6 pm at the First Dakota National Coyote Gallery, 10 E Main Street Artwork Pick-Up: Thursday, January 2, 5-7 pm (at the Gallery) or Saturday, January 4, 10 am – 12 pm (at the WSAC, 202 Washington Street) Our juror will be Klaire Lockheart, current VAAC board member and alumna of the University of South Dakota, known for her large-scale oil paintings. During the December 5th reception, all visitors will be invited to vote for their favorite works. ‘People’s Choice’ 1st and 2nd place awards - $100 and $50, respectively – will be given to the top two vote-getters at the end of the evening. The VAAC and the VCA charge no commission for artwork sales; any inquiries during the course of the exhibition will be directed to the artist. The Vermillion Area Arts Council: expanding the foundation of the Fine Arts, education, and community. To reenergize our membership and promote our mission, we encourage your participation regardless of your chosen medium, exhibition history, or length of time as a member. Whether you are just beginning to embark on your artistic journey or have years of experience in the arts, please join us in celebrating our members’ creativity. In this exhibit we hope artists from across our community will be represented, united in their support for one another in this dynamic show that embodies the passions and efforts associated with the act of creation.
