Description

“The Evolution of Beauty: How Darwin’s Forgotten Theory of Mate Choice Shapes the Animal World – and Us” is a recently published book (2017) by Richard O. Prum, a Yale ornithologist.  It is a captivating read for anyone with general interest in science, art, or sex.  It is even more spectacular for those specifically interested in Darwin or birds.  You will have the opportunity to engage in guided discussion of numerous thought provoking ideas covering a very diverse range of topics all of which have implications for understanding the human animal.

There will be two discussion sessions:  Tuesday, September 19th, from 1-3 pm, and Tuesday, October 3rd, from 1-3 pm. The first session will focus on topics in chapters 1-6, and the second will focus on topics in chapters 7-12.
