Soupapalooza is a fundraising event to supplement SNAP benefits at the Vermillion Area Farmer’s Market. This 3rd annual event features a variety of local soups and homemade cakes. The Washington Street Arts Center, also known as the VAAC, is home for this foodie event. Come join familiar faces from the Farmer’s Market and foodies from the area to sample soups on Thursday, March 28th from 5:30-7:30 pm. Suggested donation at the door is $5/person and $15/family, or free-will donation.
Additionall, this year Soupapalooza will be a zero-waste event. This means everything used for serving will be able to be recycled, reused, or compostable. Behind the Washington Street Arts Center is Vermillion’s Community Garden. The Community Garden’s composting system will allow biodegradable items like paper products and food wastes to be discarded, saving them from the landfill. The Vermillion Area Farmer’s Market will have special garbage cans for recyclable and compostable garbage. Serving dishes and utensils will be reusable, using the kitchen at the VAAC.
If you would like to contribute a soup or dessert, please call Grace at 605-670-0540 for more information. Donations can be made in lieu of suggested entrance fee.
