Join us at the Coyote Twin Theatre on Monday night to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein. The reception features a community art show, songs by USD Theatre Department, beverages (by The Bean), food, and birthday cake. There will also be a film screening of Ex Machina, a contemporary adaptation of Shelley's novel. The next day at the USD MUC ballroom there will be four panels starting at 9:30am and ending at 5:00pm and a keynote lunch speaker at 12:30pm. Guest speaker Dr. Joel Pace--English Professor from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and reggae musician--will talk about issues of race in Frankenstein. Lunch is included. The flash-lecture style panels discuss a range of issues, from Frankenstein's legacy in literature to its influence in biology, law, computing science, and more. Please visit our website for details and to register for the events you will attend.
