FEED THE FUNNEL 2025 will be here on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 2PM - 5:30PM!

 USD AWOL, and the Office of Service Learning, will be co-hosting this event with the Dakota Days Student Organization, as part of the official Dakota Days line-up, adding a service component to our spirit week! This year during Feed the Funnel we will be packaging 50,000 quality meals (made by Americans, for Americans) for our local food pantries, homeless shelters, youth shelters, domestic violence centers, and veteran resource centers! Our non-profit event co-host is the The Pack Shack - they created Feed the Funnel events for organizations to do something good for their communities and get a lot of volunteers together for one cause, while dancing and high-fiving their way to squashing food insecurity for their local communities! We will smash the gong as we reach our hourly goals, celebrating with our groups, and making new friends!

 The concept of this event, and many other 9/11 Day & Ameri Corp sponsored events, is to "Take the Day Back," and honor those who lost their lives on 9/11 by creating community and addressing social issues with solution-based events, which are held all over the country during September & October every year. We hosted this event last year, packaging 25,000 meals and it was a HUGE success - students specifically asked to make this an annual event. 

This year we have 420 spots to fill around the funnels! This event will be publicized and open to the Vermillion Community, USD Campus, USD-SF Campus, and USD Alumni! USD Coyote News, USD Marketing, Coyote Radio, Sioux City and Sioux Falls local news channels, and the Vermillion Plain Talk will be invited to cover the event, so there will be BIG exposure for USD! 

Want to reserve a Funnel to party with your organization, employees, or family? Businesses, organizations, or families can "purchase" a Funnel, reserving 8-9 spots, for one shift. Your Funnel will have your group's name above it as a place holder, and you will be recognized during the event. Each Funnel is $50 - PURCHASE YOUR FUNNEL HERE!

Businesses can also make a donation, getting listed as an event financial partner, , which would promote their business during this highly covered event. BE A FINANCIAL PARTNER

The Feed the Funnel volunteer sign-up is open to all! SIGN UP HERE to volunteer at a Funnel packaging meals for your community! This sign-up will close on September 19, so hurry while there are still spots open! There are 3 shifts available - every volunteer gets a Feed the Funnel Dakota Days t-shirt and guaranteed to have a blast! NOTE: volunteers MUST sign up to participate - walk-ins are not allowed.
